Change of Name!

I started this blog because I wanted to share tutorials and techniques for nail art. Unfortunately, I don't have nearly as much time to spend doing my nails as I used to and nails any longer than my fingertips break off within seconds. I do paint my nails still, I just don't do nail art as much.

Since I also LOVE other beauty related things like hair and makeup, I thought it would be appropriate to change from carriedawayNAILS to carriedawayBEAUTY. My instagram has also been changed to carriedawaybeauty.

To celebrate this name change there will be a giveaway on my instagram. If you wish to enter, please visit instagram on your phone, go to the giveaway picture and read the rules.

Lorac Pro 2 Swatches and Mini Review

I would like to go into detail why I love this palette but honestly, I've only used it one time because I was waiting to buy NYX Milk before touching it. The shadows feel just as amazing as the first one. Two months or so ago, HSN had this palette and the Lorac Pro mascara in a set for $42 and a $20 off a $40+ item code for new customers. So I took the plunge and got it. What really made me want this palette is the Navy, I mean, who doesn't love blue eyeshadow?

The Lorac Pro 2 consists of sixteen eyeshadows, eight matte and eight shimmer. These eyeshadows are swatched over NYX Milk, on the back of my hand.

Top - Bottom: Buff, Light Brown, Snow, Beige

Top - Bottom: Cool Gray, Nectar, Rosé, Mocha

Top - Bottom: Plum, Navy, Chrome, Silver

Top - Bottom: Charcoal, Black, Jade, Coco

This palette is basically like the other, without primer the mattes will not be as pigmented. I really thought I was going to be in love with Navy, but when when I got to Jade, I knew I wouldn't be able to get enough. Some of the shimmer in Jade is brown and it makes it so beautiful, but really hard to capture in a picture.

Lorac Pro Swatches and Review

My beloved Lorac Pro, how could I ever try using the Naked palettes? As beautiful as the Naked 3 was, I could not handle the fallout, it was just not for me. The Lorac Pro, however, is my true love. When first getting into makeup, I wanted to get a eyeshadow palette from Sephora. I was stuck between the Lorac Pro and the Naked palette. No matter how many times I went to swatch them, I couldn't decide. Until, finally, I read one review that pushed me into the Lorac Pro. Since then, I've been hooked and with these swatches I'm hoping someone else can use them to make their decision.

The Lorac Pro consists of sixteen eyeshadows, eight matte and eight shimmer. These eyeshadows are swatched over NYX Milk, on the back of my hand.

On my hand, top - bottom: White, Cream, Nude, Champagne

Top to bottom: Taupe, Light Pink, Gold, Light Bronze

Top to Bottom: Mauve, Sable, Pewter, Garnet

Top to Bottom: Espresso, Black, Deep Purple, Slate

The names of each shadow are spot on for their color, so theres no need to describe them. The only real problem is if your aren't using a primer, the matte ones will not be as pigmented. Other than that, the eyeshadows are so creamy and soft. My most used colors would have to be Taupe, Gold, and Pewter. If you are looking for a palette with a good mix of matte and shimmer, definitely give this one a shot!
